On Sunday, eight students on our Rugby ACE Programme represented the Wasps Centre of Excellence and competed against their Bristol, Harlequins and Exeter counterparts.
The fixtures were held locally, at Oxford Harlequins RFC, with the Gloucester-Hartpury and Saracens Centres of Excellence also in attendance.
Pat Metcalfe-Jones, Head of Rugby (Girls) said: “It was a fantastic occasion for the players to play together competitively for the first time, putting months of hard work into practice. We look forward to seeing the cohort compete again at the upcoming National CoE Festival on Saturday 12 March.”
The City of Oxford College, Wasps ACE Programme is for talented 16-18-year-old rugby players who have the ambition and potential to play rugby at the very highest level. We provide the support for students to pursue their rugby ambitions whilst studying their preferred academic pathway.
Any potential candidates for the 2022-23 cohort are encouraged to submit applications ahead of the first assessment day on Saturday 12 February 2022. Discover our sports academies.
