Activate Learning’s Technology Campus in Blackbird Leys has become a standalone college and will now be known as The Leys College.

Formerly the City of Oxford College and University Centre: Technology Campus, the campus will now become a college in its own right in order to strengthen its identity and foster a deeper sense of belonging in the communities it serves.
This change has also come about following extensive consultation with the local community, which includes both Blackbird Leys and Greater Leys.
The transition from a campus to a standalone college presents an opportunity to:
- Create a distinct identity for the college that reflects its current academic offer.
- Further raise the profile of the campus in Oxfordshire and beyond.
- Attract local students in the area and support social and community cohesion.
Gary Headland DL, CEO at Activate Learning, said: “This is a significant milestone for the Leys area, and I’m optimistic about the positive role Activate Learning will continue to play in strengthening community connections.
“Located at the heart of both Blackbird Leys and Greater Leys, The Leys College is perfectly positioned to become a central hub for learning and collaboration. I look forward to seeing the college serve local residents and the wider Oxfordshire community for many years to come.”

A new website and social media pages have been launched to showcase The Leys College offer.
