This week, Rycotewood Furniture Apprentice Stanley Mackintosh is competing in Cabinet Making at WorldSkills Shanghai 2026, putting his precision, creativity and craftsmanship to the test alongside some of the world’s most talented young professionals.
In this series, we follow along on Stanley’s journey.
On day three of WorldSkills Stanley Mackintosh is doing a great job as the pace of the competition increases.
His tutor, Josh Hudson, said: “It’s been a fast working day for Stanley. Specific goals were achieved, supported by the WorldSkills team and all others around him. Tomorrow is the big final push, where the speed of the competition goes up.”
There are just two and a half more hours of the competition and the Rycotewood team are supporting Stanley all the way.
The day also gave the Rycotewood team an opportunity to continue exploring the arena before Stanley’s tutor Josh Hudson was interviewed by FE Weekly.
