Our T Level in Marketing is a two-year course for 16 to 18-year-olds who want a hands-on route into marketing. Designed with employers and awarded by Pearson, it combines classroom learning with real workplace experience.
You’ll develop the business knowledge, analytical skills and creative thinking that marketing teams look for, then put them into practice during an industry placement of at least 45 days.
T-levels are two-year, Level 3 study programmes that follow GCSEs and Technical Awards and offer an alternative to A Levels and Apprenticeships. T-levels combine classroom theory, practical learning and a minimum 315 hours of industry placement with an employer. The work placement gives students real workplace experience. T-level programmes are developed in collaboration with employers so that the content meets the needs of the industry and provides the knowledge and experience needed to progress to highly skilled employment, an apprenticeship or university.
What you'll learn
In your first year, you’ll build a strong understanding of business and marketing. In your second year, you’ll specialise as a Marketing Assistant (Multi-Channel), developing the practical skills needed to work in a marketing team.

- The business environment, including types of organisations and how they are structured
- Principles of marketing, sales and procurement
- Legislation, regulation and ethics in marketing and business
- Business communication and teamwork
- Sustainability in business
- Project management
- How digital technology is changing the way businesses work
- Sales processes, negotiation and customer experience
CORE CONTENT
You’ll explore key marketing ideas, including:
Why marketing matters – Marketing is more than adverts. It shapes how a business runs, its culture and its future plans.
Customers and consumers – A customer buys a product, while a consumer uses it. They’re not always the same person, so you need to market to them differently.
Routes to market – Some businesses sell to other businesses (B2B), others sell directly to the public (B2C). The route affects how a product is marketed.
Customer personas – Profiles of typical customers, used to plan marketing campaigns. You’ll learn what influences different people to buy.
Business aims – Some organisations aim to make a profit, while others, such as charities, don’t. Their marketing goals reflect this.
The marketing mix (7 Ps) – The tools businesses use to get a product noticed and sold:
1. Product – what you’re selling
2. Price – what it costs and why
3. Place – where people can buy it
4. Promotion – how you tell people about it, such as adverts, PR and special offers
5. People – the staff involved in selling it and supporting customers
6. Process – how the whole buying experience works
7. Physical evidence – the things that show a business is trustworthy, such as packaging, receipts and shop design
You’ll learn how using all seven together makes marketing far more effective.
How you'll learn and be assessed
You’ll learn through a mix of classroom teaching and an industry placement of at least 315 hours (45 days) with a real employer, where you’ll apply your skills in a working marketing environment.
