Dear parent/carer,
I’m writing to let you know about some temporary changes during the first week of February impacting railway services out of Oxford, and the walkway between Botley Road and Frideswide Square.
Upcoming temporary railway disruptions
From Sunday 1- Sunday 8 February, the existing Botley Road rail bridge will be demolished and replaced.
While these works are being carried out, there will be no rail services between Oxford and Didcot Parkway, with replacement buses running instead. These will be departing from Becket Street car park in Oxford.
Please note that some services between Oxford and Banbury may also be affected on Sundays, with replacement buses running.
Temporary changes to the walkway
From Sunday 1-Sunday 8 February, the current walkway between Botley Road and Frideswide Square will be closed, with a walkway diversion in place.
An alternative, step-free diversion route will be available through the station, with signage and marshals in place to support people in their journey.
Bike and scooter riders will need to dismount. Mopeds and motorbikes will not be permitted through the station and will be required to use this alternative route: A4144 – A34 Western Bypass – A420.
You can view a diagram showing the temporary walking route on the Oxfordshire Connect – Network Rail website.
