A message for students from Cheri Ashby, Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Activate Learning
I hope you’re well and settling back into your studies after the Christmas break. The term ahead promises to be an exciting one, with lots of opportunities to learn, develop and take part in wider enrichment activities.
I wanted to take some time to remind you about the importance of attendance. We’re now a third of the way through the academic year, and it is important to bear in mind that the better your attendance is, the greater your chances of success will be in your chosen programme of study.
If you have been attending well, keep it up!
If you haven’t been attending your lessons as much as you should, it’s not too late to make a difference. Our campuses are welcoming, safe and vibrant spaces and we want to give you the greatest chance of success by encouraging you to learn at your best.
Please remember to turn up to all your lessons in your study programme on time and ready to learn, so that you won’t be missing any crucial skills development, subject content and you will be able to complete your assessments on time.
Support is available if you need it. Please speak to your teacher or to a member of our Safeguarding team if we can be of any help during your time with us. It is important that you feel safe and stay safe during your studies.
We all want you to enjoy your time at college and be successful on your career pathway.
