Activate Learning’s City of Oxford College students celebrate A Level success with 100% pass rate

City of Oxford College would like to congratulate the 98 students who passed their A Level qualifications today with a 100% pass rate, for a second year in a row.

The City of Oxford College History department maintained a 100% pass rate for the second consecutive year, with 73% achieving an A*-B grade. All of our Spanish students also secured a 100% pass rate.

The majority of subjects at City of Oxford College secured a 100% pass rate at the college.

Sally Dicketts CBE, Chief Executive of Activate Learning, said: “Congratulations to all students who received their A Level and level 3 qualifications today.

“It has been a difficult 18 months for all of you who have studied under COVID conditions. But for those of you who have stuck with it and worked hard in a focused planned manner, you will now receive some great results to enable you to move onto the next stage of your life. This could be employment or further study.

“I wish you all the very best of luck for your future endeavors and if you are unsure of your next steps please do not hesitate to contact us at Activate Learning as we would be delighted to help you further.”

Rosie McRea was the college’s top performer, achieving straight A*grades in Maths, Chemistry, Biology and Further Maths. Rosie will now take up an offer from the University of Exeter where she will study Medicine.

Following her outstanding results, Rosie says that her experience at City of Oxford College was good and is very thankful for her time studying over the past two years.

Bonnie Lynn achieved A* grade in Psychology, an A grade in Sociology and an A in Biology. Bonnie is now going to take a gap year and then apply to study Medicine at Plymouth or Sheffield. She is also a keen cycler, so would like to go to a university with a good cycling club.

Bonnie said she would recommend the college, as it has enabled her to grow as an independent person.

Ali Aarabi achieved A* in Chemistry, an A* in Biology and an A in Mathematics. Ali said: “I am very happy with my results, they’re a bit higher than I expected and I am happy about that. I’ve had a very supportive tutor who really helped me achieve what I have achieved,as well as the teachers who have always been helpful, supportive and friendly. I plan on having a gap year this year, however next year I am applying for Medicine next September.”

City of Oxford College teaches a wide range of A Levels, including further mathematics, drama and theatre studies, physics and media studies, as well as degree subjects ranging from business and enterprise, furniture design and make, policing, and sports coaching.
